Built as one room, the set needed to be filmed in such a way that the roof of the existing room became the floor of the entering room. To achieve this, the set was constructed some 6 feet above the studio floor to allow the Cyclops camera enough room to start low, whilst the rig’s reach enabled it to gain the necessary height to clear the roof from frame at the end.

The “in” and “out” speeds of the floor and roof needed to match exactly to one another to give a seamless join. The timing and positioning of the actress also had to match as the camera moved up. This was done with skilled wire technicians and triggered video overlay during filming.
