For this feature film, the Cyclops and Motion Base system were programmed via our “rig chase” from an animated previs to ensure that camera angles and ‘dragon’ motion were correct for the scenes.

As well as giving the main motion of ‘Eragon’s’ body, the motion base also was fitted with two extra actuators which controlled the neck section of the model. This was needed because there are various scenes in which the hero character needed to interact with the neck area and realistic motion was required. These were also controlled by the motion control system, and accurately programmed to replicate the movement of the neck.
