For this dramatic shot director Steven Spielberg used a Milo on location in Ireland to fill a beach and cliff top with troops. Careful repositioning and choreographing of the hundreds of extras meant that by filming various passes, the scene could be populated with thousands of soldiers and vehicles.

After filming the sequence, the move data was given to ILM so that they could add CG ships and anti-aircraft balloons to the scene with perfect perspective.
