Part of this sequence involved interaction between main characters and a submarine at dock. A full size section of a submarine was used for the live action plates, which were filmed with principle actors using a Milo Motion Control system.

After shooting, the move files were stored on computer and clean video passes recorded along with any information required for later use. The Milo Motion Control system could then be programmed to duplicate the exact live action move at the appropriate scale on the model submarine. The scaled move could be checked for line up using the clean video pass before filming of the model commenced.
